Guitar tuner FAQ

Is this online guitar tuner free?

Yes. It runs in the browser with no install and no account. Microphone access is only used while the tuner is listening.

What tunings are supported?

Presets include standard, Drop D, Drop C, Drop B, half step down, DADGAD, Open G, Open D, 7-string standard, 4/5/6-string bass, and ukulele. You can also set each string by hand and calibrate A4 to 440, 442, or 432 Hz.

Why does the note jump around?

Browser pitch detection works best with one clear string in a quiet room. Mute the other strings and avoid talking over the note.

Does this work on phones?

Yes on modern mobile browsers that allow microphone input. Hold the phone near the soundhole or amp, not right against a loud speaker.

Is this the same as AI tab conversion?

No. The tuner only listens for pitch so you can tune. To turn a recording into an editable tab, use the converter after you are in tune.
